For their first season opener game in October 1967, the Los Angeles Kings donned simple hockey jerseys with a purple and gold color scheme. The color scheme, which represented royalty, went very well with the teams crown logo and was made to coincide with the jerseys of the Los Angeles Lakers. The Kings jerseys had gold jerseys for home games and purple jerseys for away games with alternating stripes on the sleeves and around the lower torso. The crown logo was displayed in the center of the jersey and was outlined in both purple and gold.
